I HAVE recently received notice concerning the rise in my widow’s pension.

I would like to thank those in power for the rise. I can now afford to buy an extra loaf of bread, a couple of pints of milk and, if I am lucky, an Oxford Mail and a postage stamp.

I am not sure what will happen about the rise in the bills. Maybe they will look after themselves, but I don’t believe that for one moment.

I also wrote, some time ago, to the Oxford Mail concerning a bus shelter in Florence Park Road for buses heading into Oxford city.

There are a lot of elderly residents living around Florence Park who, I am sure, would welcome a bus shelter of sorts. I just wonder if anything is planned concerning this issue.
