SIMON and Gladys Effa-Heap were undoubtedly misguided and utterly wrong in their scheme to smuggle a baby out of Nigeria.
But, given their work in the community, it is reasonable to assume they were driven by altruistic desire to help and so a suspended sentence seems appropriate.
