A THREE-CAR crash near Bicester which caused large tailbacks this morning has been cleared.

The crash occurred at about 7.50am on the M40 junction 9 roundabout southbound where it meets the A34.

A woman was trapped in her car due to a mechanical fault and needed the help of fire crews to get free.

No other persons were reported injured.

Two lanes were closed to deal with the incident, but were re-opened at 8.50am.

Traffic was reported to be very heavy across the area and stretched back to the A41 Bicester Little Chef roundabout.

The three cars involved were a Ford Focus, a Ford ranger, and Chrysler Cruiser.
