THE new leader of an Oxfordshire council has been appointed.
As expected, Roger Cox was elected as the leader of Vale of White Horse District Council.
He has taken over from Matthew Barber, whose job as deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley will become full-time this month.
Mr Cox, who represents Faringdon, was Mr Barber's deputy until Wednesday.
Ed Blagrove will be Mr Cox's deputy, while Alice Badcock has been added to the council's cabinet.
Abingdon Fitzharris councillor Monica Lovatt is now Vale's chairman, taking over from Reg Waite.
