HEALTH campaign group Keep the Horton General (KTHG) has unveiled a new logo to boost its profile as it fights against the downgrading of services at the Banbury hospital.

The group launched the new look to coincide with the NHS 70 birthday celebrations with banners featuring the new logo used for the first time at the NHS rally in London on June 30.

KTHG chairman Keith Strangwood said: “After 12 years we thought it was time for a ‘freshen up’.

“You will see our former logo is featured in the footer but the new logo (aka header) is dramatic and obviously eye-catching.

“We want to reinforce our raison d’etre – namely keeping our beloved Horton as a fully functioning general hospital.

“With so much emphasis on the NHS, not least with the announcement of a new Health Secretary, we realise that it is vital that our campaign attracts as much publicity as possible.”

The hospital has been subject to a number of recent operational changes including the downgrading of the intensive care unit and maternity services.

The campaign group is currently waiting to hear the outcome of a legal appeal over the legality of the public consultation which led to the changes being approved.
