JACOB Rees Mogg is perhaps the epitome of Oxford University Conservative Association cliches - but his father was also a president of the organisation.
The Tory MP and ardent Brexiteer's dad, William - pictured here - was invited to compete for a bottle of Champagne by a Miss Mieke Wyatt at a Worcester College garden party in June 1950.
At the event in Fellows' Garden, outgoing president David Waddington said the association's membership of 1,300 was more than that of the Liberal and Labour clubs put together.
The Duchess of Marlborough, who opened the party, congratulated the association on its success and the work it was doing for the Conservative cause.
Rees Mogg senior was a big name in his own right, going on to edit The Times.
His son remains the association's honorary president.
