A DANGEROUS stretch of road will receive millions of pounds of improvements after being named the ninth riskiest A-Road in the UK.
Work completed on the A361 between Banbury and the A44 at Chipping Norton is estimated to present 46 fatal and serious injuries over the next 20 years.
The Department for Transport's Safer Roads Fund will commit £100 million to improve safety on 11 risky routes across the country. It is estimated to save £550m over the same 20-year period.
