AN Oxfordshire bus company has donated copies of a children's book it has published to Oxford's children's hospice.

Stagecoach staff handed over copies of their book, Stagecoach Saves the Buzzy Bees, to patients at Helen and Douglas House last week.

The story follows cartoon characters based on Stagecoach vehicles and aims to teach the message that bees are not to be feared but are vital in keeping crops and plants alive.

During the visit the bus company team met nine-year-old Finley, his sister Lucie, seven, and their mum, Michaela.

Finley has an extremely rare genetic condition giving him immune deficiency and restricted growth.

Lucy Walker, community fundraising manager at the hospice said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Stagecoach for the books that they have given us, which we will give to the children who visit the hospice."

The visit was part of Stagecoach’s environment and community week.
