THE history of basketmaking in Oxfordshire and what was north Berkshire will be the subject of a show in the Vale and Downland Museum, Wantage, between November 13 and January 11.
David Nutt, of Oxfordshire Basketmakers, said: "Baskets used to be everywhere.
"You'd start life in a Moses basket and at the other end of your existence, you'd be buried in a basket coffin."
The Wantage exhibition brings together a wide range of baskets from other collections, together with archive photographs.
Tying in with the exhibition will be a 'family friendly day', on November 24, offering the chance to create a basket with basketmaker Christine Brewster.
