A SHOPPING centre in Cowley is calling for local choir groups to put themselves forward to perform at its Christmas lights switch on.
Last year, more than 13,000 shoppers visited Templars Square for the festive fun day and a similar number is expected this year with plenty of family entertainment on offer including magic shows, Santa’s grotto and a Disney Princess visiting children.
The fun day kicks off at 12pm on November 24 and runs throughout the afternoon until 4pm.
Visitors will be able to enjoy an afternoon of performances with the chosen local choir group performing with other local groups including well known dance troop Messy Jam.
Owen Acland, centre manager, said: “The Christmas lights switch on is one of our biggest events and this year we wanted to make it even more special and get the local community more involved."
