RESIDENTS have described seeing fireworks aimed at a group of young teenagers in Witney from a van over the weekend.
Posts on social media from people who live on Burwell Meadow and Burwell Drive reported hearing 'screaming and a bang' at around 8pm on Saturday.
Lights and 'what sounded like explosions' were also seen from nearby Colwell Drive.
Police have confirmed they were called to the streets at 8.10pm on Saturday following reports of fireworks being set off but no arrests were made.
A Thames Valley Police spokeswoman added: "There were reports the fireworks were being aimed at vehicles and further reports of fireworks being thrown from a van."
One resident on social media said they did not witness the initial firework being set off but were there when a second was launched from a silver transit van with two men inside.
She wrote: "I was stood talking to my neighbour when the van came by a second time, it sped up and let off a rocket into the group of teens hit the floor exploded and came in my direction just missing myself and my neighbours"
She added 'thankfully' the firework was pointed at the ground or it would have 'gone straight into my neighbours house'.
There have also been reports someone had to be taken to hospital but police said they had received no reports of serious or life-threatening injuries.
