A RESTAURANT in the city centre has applied for permission to install new signs to the windows, and replace an old door as part of a redesign.
Jamie’s Italian on George Street could have seven light-up hanging signs with two new window menu boxes, if plans are approved by Oxford City Council.
New ‘antique’ feel lights could also be switched for the current ones.
The restaurant, which sits on the corner of George Street and Gloucester Street in Oxford Town Centre, is near to to other chains including Byron Burger and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
In the online application, which can be found using the reference 18/02654/ADV on the Oxford City Council planning register, planners wrote that if they are given the go-ahead they will also turn an old un-used door into an extra entrance.
As it is, one of the only signs on the street is the ‘Jamie’s Italian’ hanging sign on the first floor, just under the hotel.
All three plans for signs have been approved in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
