AWESOME aerobatic displays wowed crowds at Oxford Airport in October 1977.
The Flying Tigers, from Redhill in Surrey, gave their final display of the year as thousands of people descended on the Kidlington airfield to watch.
Sisters Jeanne and Joy Frazier stole the show as they 'rode' on top of Tiger Moth bi-planes, the aircraft that gave the group their name.
But spectators were also impressed by a series of other stunts, including demonstrations of spiralling, low-level flying and formation aerobatics.
The Flying Tigers also caused hilarity when they flour-bombed moving targets and cut falling ribbons with their wing tips.
The day was complete when six members of the army free-fall parachute regiment, the Red Devils, dropped in from their Norman Britten Islander from 7,000 feet.
