EIGHTIES pop duo Tears For Fears are to play an open air concert at Blenheim Palace next summer.
The 30 million-selling synth-pop band are the second act to be named for the Nocturne Live series of concerts, which will take place in the Great Court of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Woodstock.
They perform on Saturday, June 22 with support from London post-punk five-piece White Lies and chart-topping pop outfit Scritti Politti.
The news follows the announcement earlier this month that superstar Kylie Minogue is to play the stately home on Sunday, June 23. Tickets for that show sold out within minutes.
Tears for Fears bring a huge catalogue of hit songs including Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Shout, Head Over Heels and Mad World.
Nocturne Live Director Ciro Romano said: “Tears For Fears are an iconic band with an incredible catalogue of songs that have truly stood the test of time. We can’t wait to have them follow in the footsteps of the likes of Elvis Costello, Jamie Cullum and Gregory Porter and headline the Saturday night of next summer’s event.”
