A PLAN to turn a family home into one for multiple renters in Oxford will be decided by councillors tomorrow.
An application has been lodged with Oxford City Council to change the legal classification of a house to a house in multiple occupation (HMO) in Dale Close, Hinksey Park.
But five city councillors have said they wanted the issue debated at the West Area planning committee tomorrow night.
Labour councillors Marie Tidball, John Tanner, Mary Clarkson, Susanna Pressel and Steve Curran have said they are worried about the volume of HMOs in the close.
Council papers also say 'there is a perception that the area would be ill-suited to accommodate additional HMOs'.
But planning officers have said the change in classification should be allowed. Under a council guideline, HMOs should not make more than 20 per cent of all homes in one street.
Councillors will make a decision on the project at Oxford Town Hall.
