A WOMAN was forced to hand over cash in an early-morning robbery in Headington after a man threatened her with a broken bottle.

The 23-year-old victim was approached from behind while at a bus stop in London Road near to the junction of Latimer Road at around 7am on Sunday, December 2.

Police have today issued an appeal for witnesses.

The offender is described as a mixed race man, around 5ft 4ins, aged between 18 to 20-years-old and of a slim build.

He was wearing black trousers, a black zip up hooded top and his face was partially covered with a thin black and red striped scarf or handkerchief.

Investigating officer PC Rebecca Nightingale based at Oxford police station, said: “I would like to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.

"I believe there may have been cars in the area at the time of the incident.”
