POLICE have said they are 'keeping an open mind' about whether an Abingdon supermarket break in is linked with other ram raids in the county.

The Northcourt Road Co op and post office was targeted at 3.30am on Thursday by thieves who smashed their way into the store before making off with money from its ATM.

A Thames Valley Police spokeswoman today said: "Detectives from Force CID are actively making enquiries and keeping an open mind as to whether this is linked to any other similar offences in Oxfordshire or nationally."

A picture posted on Facebook showed the shop with a broken window, with police officers and a cordon at the scene.

The woman who shared the image said it was one of four places targeted, though this has not been confirmed by police.
