A NEW estate of 19 homes is being planned for a village near Faringdon.

Swindon-based Bower Mapson Homes has applied for permission to build the houses in Shellingford.

The company is proposing to demolish farm buildings of the old Home Farm Dairy on Dogkennel Lane, opposite Shellingford CofE Primary School.

In its application to Vale of White Horse District Council the firm said: "We have sought to reflect a healthy mix of new homes to cover the wide range of differing accommodation to be found in the village."

This includes six two-bedroom terraced homes, two three-bedroom terraced homes, two three-bedroom detached homes, three four bedroom detached homes and six five-bedroom detached homes with 42 per cent of the homes being affordable provided via a Housing Association.
