A KNIFE was seized and confiscated by police after being discovered in a public place in Oxford.
Officers from the Cowley neighbourhood team said a member of the public came across the weapon yesterday evening.

The item, which appeared to be a kitchen knife with a 12cm blade, was safely disposed of shortly after seizure.
Tweeting about the discovery, police added the hashtag #knivesruinlives but did not state exactly where it was spotted.

In November a bread knife was found stashed in bushes in Meadow Lane in East Oxford along with drug paraphernalia, after residents raised concerns about drug crime in the area.
