A MAN who stole an iPad and an Apple Mac laptop during a string of burglaries in Oxford has been jailed for more than three years.
Graham Woollett, 43, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison following the offences between November 22 and 26 last year.
The first offence saw Woollett steal a backpack from a private library at the Taylor Institution, St Giles, before entering 'insecure' student accommodation at Wadham College and stealing an iPad the next day.
On November 25, he tried to access a student's room, but was disturbed by the occupant before he could take anything.
Finally, on November 26, Woollett entered a private library at Keble College, stealing an Apple Mac laptop.
He was arrested on November 28 and charged with the offences the following day.
Woollett pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary in a non-dwelling, one count of burglary in a dwelling and one count of attempted burglary in a dwelling Oxford Crown Court on Thursday.
Investigating officer PC Chris Kidd of Investigation Team 3 based at St Aldates police station, said: “Detecting and preventing burglary remains a top priority in Oxford, and this conviction and sentence highlights this.
“Woollett has been given a significant period of imprisonment which will prevent him from causing anybody else to become a victim of his crimes.
“We always thoroughly investigate burglaries, and will work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice.”
