COUNCILLORS have approved a controversial plan to build a new teaching block on part of a school's playing field.
Benson Church of England Primary School was given planning permission by Oxfordshire County Council yesterday for the extension which will house three new classrooms, toilets, a plant room and storage areas.

Despite residents branding the new facility 'disgusting', councillors backed the plans with 10 of 13 voting in favour.
Councillor John Sanders said it was seen as the 'least worst option'.
