AN OXFORD newsagent has been given the lowest possible rating by food hygiene inspectors.

Globe Newsmarket, which also contains St Giles' Post Office, located on Woodstock Road, was awarded zero stars following a visit by the city council's health team last month.

While food hygiene and safety was judged to be 'fair', meaning it is in the top 50 per cent of businesses, inspectors said they had 'no confidence' in management and structural compliance, which looks at cleanliness and the general state of the building, was found to be 'bad'.
