CHOUX pastry is proving a hit in Bicester as a new patisserie opens in the town.

Persian pistachio, dark chocolate and earl grey, and raspberry macaron éclairs are among the taste-bud tingling treats not being sold in Bicester.

London brand Maître Choux has brought its perfected pastries to Bicester Village as its sets up its first shop outside the country's captial.

The pop-up shop, which also sells choux, chouquettes, pastry 'mountains', launched on February 1 and co-founder Jeremie Vaislic and business partner and chef Joakim Prat said the opening has been a great success.

Mr Vaislic said: "The welcome from Bicester Village visitors has been great and we’ve seen people on social media getting really excited that we have arrived here.

"Bicester Village has always been on our radar due to the strong footfall and the demographics of visitors. It fits right into our strategy.

"It is our first store outside of London and it is extremely exciting to be able to have non-Londoners try our pastries! Hopefully it is the first of many more to come."
