The River Learning Trust, which will run the school and also runs Cherwell, wants to erect the cabins next to the South Site's playing fields.
Planning officers have recommended approval and there has been a wave of public support, particularly from parents whose children are hoping to attend the academy.
The buildings would house pupils from September for a maximum of two academic years, until the secondary school's permanent site further along Marston Ferry Road is ready.
