Oxfordshire County Council has responded by putting temporary signs in place near the A40 slip road - which leads up towards the M40.
Reports from drivers seen by the Oxford Mail suggest it was at this point where the most recent driver entered the A40 the wrong-way before entering the M40. This has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
The improvements include multiple two-way traffic signs at the A40 sliproad between Wheatley and the M40 Junction 8A services.
As well as an 'All traffic keep left' sign and further no entry signs nearby at the same spot.
