GET your trainers and pans ready for a pancake race for charity at Westgate Centre on Pancake Day next month.

People can now enter the race, which is also hosted by Buzz Gym, and all proceeds will go to Maggie’s Oxford, which provides free support to people with cancer and their family and friends.

Teams of four can take part for just £25, with the chance of winning more than £200-worth of prizes from Westgate’s Cinnamon Kitchen, Victors, Pizza Pilgrims, and Blackwell’s Bookshop.

Brendan Hattam, general manager of the shopping centre, said: “Pancake Day is a joy in itself, so to raise money for such a worthwhile charity while having some good, clean – but competitive – fun on our Roof Terrace is the perfect way to step into spring. We look forward to crowning the winning team.”

The pancake race starts at 12pm on March 5 on Westgate Oxford’s Roof Terrace.

Ajaye Hunn-Phillips, sales and operations manager at Buzz Gym, added: “We love to get involved in the community, raise awareness for great charities, and make fitness fun. Buzz Gym isn’t another boring gym – this kind of event sets us apart and allows us to form great bonds with other independent businesses.”
