A DRUG dealer caught with hundreds of wraps of class A drugs has been warned to expect a lengthy jail term.

Brandon Morris, of Crescent Road, Luton, appeared via videolink at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.

The 28-year old pleaded guilty to two charges of possession with intent to supply class A drugs - cocaine and heroin.

Prosecutors said that Morris was caught with 143 wraps of heroin and 220 wraps of cocaine at Beaumont Road Industrial Estate in Banbury on the night of January 23.

Nigel Ogborne, speaking on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service, said that Morris was a 'trusted individual' in the drug dealing operation given the large quantity of drugs found.

The exact quantities represented 23.7g of cocaine and 11.34g of heroin.

His defence barrister Sumita Mahtab-Shaikh urged the court for further time in order to prepare additional mitigation ahead of his sentencing.

Agreeing to adjourn the case Judge Peter Ross said he would not 'waste' the resources of the National Probation Service by ordering a pre-sentence report to explore all sentencing options.

He added that Morris was looking at a statutory minimum of at least seven years in prison in light of the offences.

Sentencing was adjourned until March 7 and Morris was remanded in custody in the meantime.
