NOMINATIONS have opened for Oxford's annual Certificate of Honour Awards.
The Lord Mayor, Colin Cook, is inviting nominations to 'celebrate the invaluable work of Oxford’s voluntary community'.
Mr Cook said: "Over my time as Mayor I have met many worthy recipients for a Certificate of Honour. I just hope their friends and fellow volunteers take up this opportunity to nominate them for a Certificate of Honour Award. Please make sure your nominations get to us before the deadline on the 10 April.”
Winners will be invited to an awards ceremony at Oxford Town Hall in May.
Nominees do not have to live in Oxford, but the service and support they provide must be carried out within the city over a substantial period of time.
All nominations will be considered by the Mayor, Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire and the Chief Executive of Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action (OCVA).
Nominations can be completed at oxford.gov.uk/certificatesofhonour
Hard copy nomination forms can also be collected from the reception desk at Oxford Town Hall or requested via email at civicoffice@oxford.gov.uk. Completed hard copies should be returned to Certificates of Honour, Civic Office, 3rd Floor, St Aldate’s Chambers, 109 St Aldate’s, Oxford, OX1 1DS.
