CINEMA lovers have the chance to see new and classic films while soaking up the rays this summer.

Following a successful debut last year, the Luna Beach Cinema returns to Brighton seafront this year.

The massive cinema screen will be up on the beach just off Madeira Drive from July 31 to August 18.

From the end of July, film fanatics will be able to see films like A Star Is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Mary Poppins Returns and many more, all while lounging around in the sun.

In total, there are 36 screenings across the three weeks that the cinema will be running.

The big screen proved popular last year as punters took to the beach to watch England’s heroic World Cup exploits.

George Wood, founder of The Luna Cinema, said: “We are so excited to be bringing back The Luna Beach Cinema to Brighton again this summer, after such an incredible first year in 2018 screening the World Cup and a host of fantastic films on the big open-air screen.

“This year we may not have the football, but we’ve made sure we’ve got something for everyone.

“This includes popular family favourites, the year’s biggest hitters and popular classics too.

“Theatre fans will also enjoy an exclusive National Theatre Live screening of Brighton set comedy “One Man, Two Guvnors”, making The Luna Beach Cinema the perfect location for this special live broadcast.

“There really is nothing better than relaxing on the beach with friends and family, with the sun hopefully shining down, a cold drink in your hand, watching a fantastic film or performance on a giant 10 metre high definition LED screen.

“Set to the backdrop of the Brighton Palace Pier and beach, Brighton is no doubt the place to be this summer.”

There will be plenty of stalls where visitors can purchase food or drinks, and there are even some special VIP huts on offer where you can get some shade in your own private spot on the beach.

These huts come with access to a fully stocked bar and even a private butler service.

The ideal way to watch a film while feeling like a Hollywood A-lister.

However picnics and food and drink are not permitted to be brought into the cinema from outside.

And all tickets must be booked in advance as capacity is strictly limited.

After last year’s success Luna Beach will hope to make it a second super summer in Brighton.
