POTHOLES have been banished from Magdalen Bridge ahead of Oxford's May Morning celebrations.
Thousands of spectators will gather on the bridge and surrounding stretch of High Street on Wednesday, to listen to choral singing at sunrise and watch Morris dancing.
The road surface had been peppered with potholes in recent months, but now bears a much smoother finish after being resurfaced on Thursday night.

Oxford's May Morning tradition dates back more than 500 years and celebrates the onset of spring.
Oxford City Council is expecting between 5,000 and 10,000 spectators this year, depending on weather.
Depending on the weather, between about 5,000 and 10,000 people could attend #MayMorning. Magdalen Bridge will therefore be very crowded.
