A RECORD number of runners are ready to take on the Oxford Town and Gown race.
About 5,000 people have signed up to take part tomorrow - the biggest number in the annual event's 38-year history.
The race is funded and organised by Muscular Dystrophy UK charity, with support this year from sponsor Newton.

The junior 3k route starts at 9.15am, with the 10k - open to both adults and juniors - starting shortly after at 10am.
Online registration for the event is closed but on the day entries for the 10k, costing £30, will be open from 8am - 9.15am at the registration marquee in University Parks.
