A SCHOOL hopes to create a tuck shop to cut the 'health and safety risks' of canteen queues.
John Mason School in Abingdon has applied for permission to install a temporary classroom to house a small tuck shop selling 'small eats' for students and staff to snack on.
A planning application submitted to Vale of White Horse District Council states that it would be open during lunchtime and morning break time.

The form added: "This second outlet would help significantly reduce our current H&S risks of congestion and queues currently experienced with high attendance (circa 450-500 person) per session to our popular canteen section during the brief periods of service e.g morning breaks 20 mins & lunch 40 minutes."
The council aims to make a decision on the plan by July 17.
