MUSIC lovers are being urged to get their tickets soon so they don't miss out on Abingdon's annual outdoor concert.

Music in the Park will return on Saturday evening in the town's Abbey Grounds after the free family-friendly Fun in the Park, with both events regularly attracting thousands of revellers.

On throughout Saturday, the popular day event will feature a bouncy castle, face painting, climbing wall and balloon twisting.

There will also be local food vans selling everything from burgers to German sausages, plus an ice cream van.

Councillor Helen Pighills, from Abingdon Town Council which organise both events, said: “Fun in the Park is now in its 20th year and going from strength."

She added: "Music in the Park is now its eighth year and takes place from 4:30pm.

"This year promises to be as good as ever with music from Local bands; Nevada, Fallen Angels, The Voodoo Penguins and Hope & Glory. "

Throughout the evening there will be food vans and bars serving a range of food and drink and then the evening will conclude with the usual Proms Concert by Abingdon Town Band and a firework display.

Wristbands for this year’s event cost £10 for adults and £5 for children. Under 5's are free but will need a band for entry. No concessions.

Tickets are available online via the Abbey Cinemas website theabbey.ac or purchase directly in the Abbey Cinema, which is in the town's Guildhall and open between 10am and 9pm each day.
