OXFORD law firm Royds Withy King has raised £12,000 for local charity bereavement charity SeeSaw.

Established in 2000, the charity works to meet the needs of bereaved children and young people across Oxfordshire and has supported over 6,000 children, young people and families since its creation.

Royds Withy King has supported the charity for the past two years and raised the money through fundraising activities such as bake sales, dress-down days and charity walks.

Fundraiser at SeeSaw Jane Elliott said: “We have been blown away by how enthusiastically staff have taken part in a range of fundraising activities.

"This is a significant amount of money for us as a small charity and will cover the cost of 3 of our family activity days supporting between 70-80 local families.”

Nicola Radcliffe, head of Royds Withy King’s charities group, said: “Every two years, our staff vote for a charity to support in each of our regions.

"It’s a brilliant opportunity to make a tangible difference, with a focus on raising money and doing something practical too. Our charity partners play an important role in the lives of many people who live in our local communities.

“We encourage all lawyers and staff to take advantage of the two volunteer days that we offer every year and give back to our local communities.”

Royds Withy King has announced Emmaus (Oxford) as its new charitable beneficiary for 2019-2021 based on a vote by the firm’s Oxford-based lawyers and staff.

The new relationship started in May to tie in with the start of the firm’s financial year.
