MANAGEMENT consultants Newton have celebrated their growth with the opening of a new expanded head office near Abingdon.

The company invited Wantage MP Ed Vaizey to officially open its new headquarters at Kingston Business Park in Kingston Bagpuize.

Newton undertakes work of national significance across a variety of sectors, with household name clients including M&S, BAE Systems and the NHS.

To date it has made considerable savings for its clients in private industry and the UK’s defence sector.

The company has also improved outcomes for thousands of patients and service users through its work with the NHS and local authorities.

Newton, named Business of the Year at the Oxfordshire Business Awards in 2016, has grown from three to about 325 people since it was founded in 2001 and its head office has been based in rural Oxfordshire since 2008.

The firm’s bosses said they were thrilled to be doubling the size of this key central hub, now boasting three floors of office space as well as state-of-the-art gym facilities, available to all Newton employees.

James Frost, chief finance officer of Newton, said: “It is with immense pride that we open our new premises here in Kingston Bagpuize. We chose rural Oxfordshire because we know how surroundings contribute to employee wellbeing, and we’ve built an incredible workforce of local talent which is always expanding. We’re thrilled to open this state-of-the-art facility for our team, and look forward to continuing to drive local employment, contribute to this great community, and inspire and build an even bigger workforce for the future.”

To date, Newton has grown by an average of 20 per cent year on year.

The company is a top local employer in the area and now has 90 staff employed at the Kingston Bagpuize office, 27 of whom joined Newton in the past 12 months.

Newton has invested in both general management and IT graduate training schemes, as well as offering trainee roles in areas such as finance, recruitment and PA support.

Its dedication to providing excellent employment opportunities also saw Newton placed at 34 in the Times Top 100 Graduate Employer rankings in 2018.

Newton is also the first local business to partner with Oxford Media and Business School. This partnership offers work experience opportunities, a chance to fill ongoing PA vacancies and skills development workshops to students at OMBS.

Keen to give back to the community, Newton was the headline sponsor for the Muscular Dystrophy UK Oxford Town and Gown 10k race on May 12. Newton entered a team of over 20 runners and helped raise around £200,000 for MDUK.

Wantage MP Ed Vaizey was present to cut the ribbon at the new premises and show his support last week.
