Crab Hill Wantage: Kingsgrove development part 3a set to start

St. Modwen and Crabhill Developments have sold a portion of the land at Crab Hill to Bellway.

That enables the start of the third residential phase to deliver 82 new homes in the 227-acre Kingsgrove scheme, where St.Modwen is acting as master developer, working closely with landowner Crabhill Developments and advisors Carter Jonas.

Bellway won the process to develop Phase 3a, known as Greensands, which will sit on the southern edge of the site, adjacent to the A417 Reading Road.

Bellway are aiming to start on site this month and have some homes ready by Spring 2020.

The first two phases, totalling over 350 homes, are being developed by St. Modwen Homes and CALA Homes. The first home owners came to the site in November 2018.

Bellway's regional Land Director, Daniel Bradbury, said: “We are delighted to be involved and delivering one of the key early phases of new homes."

Outline planning permission for the site was obtained in July 2015 from the Vale of White Horse District Council for up to 1,500 homes, a new primary school, a neighbourhood centre including a pub/restaurant and local retail accommodation, sports pitches, employment space and community amenities set around a central park.
