STAFF at construction consultants Ridge and Partners are celebrating after winning The Hawkins Business of the Year Award at the Oxfordshire Business Awards.

The 625-strong team from Ridge, with local headquarters at The Cowyards, Blenheim Palace, Woodstock received the coveted award for demonstrating all-round achievement, a clear vision for the future, success against objectives and sustained growth.

The prestigious black-tie event was held on Friday at the John Henry Brookes building at Oxford Brookes University, with more than 500 people in attendance.

Ridge and Partners LLP, which works across all public and private sectors, is delivering a number of high-profile projects across Oxfordshire, including Westway Place, the redevelopment of the Botley precinct in West Oxford; Oxford University and many of the Oxford colleges; UKAEA at Culham; the new headquarters for South Oxfordshire District Council and a number of local F1 teams.

It was the second year running Oxford Brookes University hosted the night at the John Henry Brookes building.

Founded in Oxford since 1946, Ridge now employs over 625 people in 11 offices across the UK and has successfully delivered projects in over 75 countries worldwide.

Harold John Ridge, a Chartered Quantity Surveyor launched the firm in St Giles in 1946 before it moved to Beaumont Street in 1949.

By 1965 the team had grown to 25 and moved back to bigger offices in St Giles.

In 1977 an office opened in Reading followed by another office in Bristol in 1988.

In 1990 the Oxford office relocated to Midland House, Botley.

The London office opened in 1998 and in 2006 more than 90 staff moved from Oxford to Woodstock.
