Car insurance prices in Oxford have risen in the last few months - but it's still much cheaper than elsewhere in the UK.

The new statistics, provided by confused.com, have revealed that drivers could be expected to pay £632 on average per year.

This new price is a one per cent increase per quarter (April to June).

However, Oxford's car insurance rates are better than much of the UK, with the price rising to £789 on average across the country.

And it is almost half the price of central London, where the average premium comes in at a whopping £1214 - 5 per cent up.

Oxford Mail:

Further research from confused.com found that drivers are not seeing a price drop when it comes to renewing their insurance.

According to a survey, 47 per cent of UK drivers who received their renewal notice between April and June said their price had increased by £50 year-on-year.

Alongside this, 27 per cent of UK motorists were confused why their cost was increasing.
