POLICE have confirmed an incident took place in Wantage, but there are still question marks over the details.
Residents took to Facebook to spark fears that a major incident had occurred on Saturday night after spotting ambulance crews and a large police presence.
A police spokesperson confirmed that police had attended a report of a 'fear for welfare' incident in Wallingford Street at around 2.45am on Sunday.
They added: "Officers attended and a woman was taken to hospital."
Police also confirmed that South Central Ambulance Service were at the scene. They have been contacted for a comment.
