A COMMUNITY has rallied round for an 87-year-old who was pick-pocketed of her rent and bills money.

A fundraising page has been set up to restore the woman's faith in humanity by kind-hearted neighbours.

The Go Fund Me page explains how the mother and well-loved grandmother was at a Wallingford building society to draw out money for her house bills and rent.

The fundraising page says: "She is now very nervous about going anywhere alone and has lost faith and trust."

It goes on to explain how a kind manager at Waitrose in Wallingford was quick to come to the woman's rescue when she relaised her purse had been stolen.

It is claimed the manager took the 87-year-old back to the building society to cancel her bank cards, paid for her shopping, walked her back to her flat and gave her flowers.
