AN A-Level student who nearly dropped out after her Dad died is going to her university of choice.

Cherwell School's Aisha Campbell nearly dropped out after the tragedy in January 2018, but she persevered and will now study International Development at Sussex, after a gap year in St Lucia.

She said: "I was really close to dropping and I was very stressed. It took a lot for me to stay here - my teachers carried me through and really helped.

"The (A-Levels) were challenging and incredibly testing of your character, however the reward at the end and the doors it opens are definitely worth the gruel."

Highlighting the 18-year-old's work experience with the United Nations, teacher Dajana Trzin described the CCD student as a 'star' for getting through the course.

Miss Trzin said: "We were really worried if we were going to get her to the end but she has done it and its great, she is a star pupil."
