CHERWELL District Council has become fully digital.

Residents are being urged to use a new portal to look at and pay different benefits and bills owed to the council.

Before now residents have been able to pay council tax online, but these new changes will mean that nearly everything can be paid through a 'self-service' system.

Customers will be able to login to see what payments are due, what they have already paid and look at receipts.

The new system will also give people the ability to set up and change their direct debits and tell the council if they are moving house.

People who are waiting for different types of benefits, like housing benefit or a council tax reduction, can also use the new system to look at details of what they have been awarded and see payments that need to be or have been made.

Small businesses will also be able to view their account details, see transactions, view copies of bills and set up and amend direct debits.

Landlords can also use the system to log in and view their transactions with the council, as well being able to use it to download copies of payment schedules.

The council say it will save time on admin for residents, businesses and landlords as well as saving council cash.
