The owner of the vehicle left in the River Evenlode near Long Hanborough organised for it to be recovered yesterday, according to West Oxfordshire District Council.

The council tweeted that it had arranged for the car to be fished out tomorrow, but 'following a discussion between our officer and the car's owner yesterday, he decided it was in his best interests financially to organise the removal himself'.
County and district councillors had previously raised fears that the vehicle represented a pollution risk.
