Train lovers steamed into 2024 as they enjoyed the first Steam Day of the year at Didcot Railway Centre on New Year's Day.
Locomotive lovers and visitors witnessed a steam train which carried a headcode of the letter Y (for the word "year") and the numerals 24.
The next Steam Day is due to take place on Saturday, February 10, with Discovery Days scheduled for every Saturday and Sunday this month.
Volunteer and photographer at the centre Frank Dumbleton, said: "The first Steam Day of the year was the start of what we expect to be a very eventful and exciting year.
"We're set to see the opening of a new entrance ramp providing improved access for all, the 100th birthday of No 4079 Pendennis Castle, and the relaunch after overhaul of No 1466 which was preserved by the Great Western Society 60 years ago, in March 1964, at a cost of £750 (the scrap value)."
