A pile of scrap metal caught fire at a travellers' site in Great Rollright near Chipping Norton last night.
Three fire crews attended the scene shortly before 10pm.
Station manager John Nixon, based at Oxford's Rewley Road station, said: "My crews arrived and found a large pile of scrap parts on fire.
"We are investigating the incident with other agencies."
