The Abingdon Parkrun event this Saturday has been cancelled (again) due to flooding, organisers have announced.

Taking to the Abingdon Parkrun Facebook page yesterday (February 22), organisers also shared pictures of the waterlogged route, captioning the post "I think the pictures tell the story".

The Abingdon Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5km walk, jog or run at 9am every Saturday at Rye Farm Meadow.

The last two events have also been cancelled due to flooding still not having cleared, and the course being "slippery and hazardous".

According to the Gov.UK website, the River Thames level downstream at Abingdon Lock is currently at a height of 3.58m and listed as '"rising" (a normal range is registered as 1.59m to 2.62m).

Should the level reach 3.65, warnings on the site state: "Property flooding is possible above this level. One or more flood warnings may be issued."
