Two building projects in Oxfordshire have made it to the finals of a regional awards competition.

The Church of St Michaels and All Angels works, phases one and two, and The Ruins of Hampton Gay Manor are listed for judging under the Heritage Project category at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Awards, South East 2024.

Phase one of the church project saw it undergo roof re-slating, with high-level stone and timber repairs.

Phase two consisted of repairs and improvements to churchyard features.

Hampton Gay Manor, a Grade II listed, late 16th-century manor house had to overcome technical and economic obstacles because of its protected species habitats in the organic farmland.

The awards spotlight top innovative strategies in real estate, construction, and infrastructure.

Beyond the Heritage category, the awards also recognise Residential Development, Community Benefit, Public Sector, and Refurbishment-Revitalisation.

Chair of the awards judging panel, Henry Russell, said: "It is inspiring to see such inspirational projects in the South East shortlisted for these awards.

"It is a true testament to the dedication of surveying professionals despite challenging times in recent years.

"I wish all of the projects the best of luck."

Further competition entries are invited for an additional six categories, which will be evaluated on a national level.

The deadline for these categories, including the new Ambassador of the Year Award, is April 26.
