A serious motorway crash has led to significant traffic delays for Oxfordshire motorists.
The collision occurred before 1pm today (Friday, March 15) on the M40 northbound between Junctions 9 and 10 near Bicester.
Lanes were closed as a result and traffic delays ensued with hundreds of drivers left trapped on the road as recovery took place.
There were tailbacks of up to 90 minutes at around 2pm.
A silver car could be seen damaged at the side of the road following the incident with its back window smashed and backend dented.

Emergency services raced to the scene with drivers stationary in the traffic spotting multiple police cars, fire engines and ambulances.
“I’ve seen two ambulances drive past, two fire service and a police car,” said one anonymous eyewitness.
Another eyewitness added at the time: “We are sitting in the M40 crash traffic.
"Multiple blue lights still heading that way but the traffic is backed up all the way to Bicester.
"I would avoid the M40 towards Banbury Bicester and Oxford."
The lanes were since reopened but National Highways warned delays would remain for drivers.
A spokesperson said: “This incident is now clear, and all lanes have re-opened on the M40 north between Junction 9 at Bicester and Junction 10 at Brackley.
“An hour and a half delay remains in the area but this should now start to ease.
“Thanks for your patience this afternoon.”
