The hygiene standards found at the time of inspection are rated on a scale from zero to five.

Five means hygiene standards are deemed to be 'very good' and zero means 'urgent improvement' is necessary.

A food safety officer from the local authority inspects the business. They check that the business follows food hygiene law so that the food is safe to eat.

It means that of South Oxfordshire's 285 similar establishments with ratings, 146 (51 per cent) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
