SCHOOL children were drilled in healthy eating and the importance of sport by Oxford United players.

Around 150 pupils at Five Acres School, Ambrosden, near Bicester, learned football skills and took part in a penalty shoot-out.

The session was part of National Sport Week, which saw children from across the county getting active and playing sport.

Players Jack Midson and Damian Batt were on hand to answer questions and sign autographs for the youngsters.

Peter Rhoades-Brown, Oxford United’s football community officer, said: “We had an assembly on healthy eating and fitness.

“The children learned football skills and other sports-related activities. They have been working hard and all turned up in their football kits.”
